About Bali Province
Bali is an Indonesian province made up of the island of Bali and a few smaller islands, with Denpasar as its capital. Its official coat of arms, shown here, is used by the provincial government on buildings, documents and official events, and is often searched for school assignments, banners and local government designs.
The emblem is laid down in Bali Provincial Regulation No. 18 of 1969 on the regional coat of arms, which also defines its shape, colours and the meaning of every element.
The Bali Province Logo: Design and Meaning
The coat of arms is a pentagon with a dark blue background and a white border. At the top shines a golden star for belief in one God. Below it stands the Margarana Heroes' Monument, a reminder of Balinese and Indonesian heroism, set in front of a candi bentar, the split gate of Balinese temples, which the regulation calls the great religious symbol of the Balinese people. A red lotus, the throne of the god Shiva, a fan for Balinese arts and culture, rice and cotton for prosperity, and a chain for unity and mutual help complete the design.
On the ribbon is the motto "Bali Dwipa Jaya", Sanskrit for "glorious island of Bali". The colours are chosen for their meaning: dark blue for tolerance, gold for nobility, red for heroism and white for purity.
